Purpose and Objective: SAP America, Inc. seeks a Procurement Specialist at our Newtown Square, PA location to work on purchasing projects of moderate to diverse complexity and scope.


Expectations and Tasks: Apply procurement knowledge to execute a variety of projects of various complexity in support of client's functional and strategic business goals and financial objectives. Work independently within given area of responsibility (within defined guidelines, policies and processes). Evaluate circumstances, discuss issues, and make recommendations; and obtain advice and the required buy-in in order to make decisions. Interact with local, regional or global counterparts (internal and external), up to mid-level (internally) to achieve desired results. Participate in procurement projects with cross-regional or cross-category focus. Contribute to sourcing strategy and its execution. Propose topics to be considered as part of the strategy. Know and understand the SAP corporate strategy and the strategy of procurement area. Conduct market analysis and track market trends. Demonstrate capacity for sourcing, analyzing proposals, negotiating, contracting and evaluating suppliers in accordance with best industry and category specific practices. Apply fluency of industry related sourcing processes and tools for bidding and contracting. Understand the line of business requirements. Execute sourcing projects on a local and global level according to established project plans. Negotiate new contracts or renegotiate existing contracts. Follow the given process and guidelines for contract management.


Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, IT Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience, or alternatively, a Master's degree and 3 years of experience. Will accept pre-Bachelor's degree experience.


Work Experience: Experience must involve three years of experience in the following: strategic and tactical procurement within indirect procurement environments in a multinational environment; network infrastructure operations; negotiating complex global network circuit agreements, services and hardware agreements; global sourcing; project management; defining and supporting the development, delivery and execution of a global strategic commodity plan for network infrastructure.
