Marcom is Apple's Global Marketing Communications group that oversees all of Apple's advertising and marketing campaigns. Marcom's Design Team is responsible for design and art direction, working collaboratively to define the look and feel of Apple products across all platforms.

We are looking for an experienced Product Graphics, Manager to join our in-house team and become an integral part of developing and managing work that pushes the Apple brand message forward. In this role, you will manage a team of talented designers and producers to help facilitate the execution of product graphic design that reflects Apple standards for simplicity and elegance.

As the Product Graphics team we work with multiple organizations across Apple to execute Apple's branding on our products. Executions range from developing and placement of graphics across all Apple products including Apple logos, glyphs, personalization, regulatory markings, and other regionally mandated on-product markings.

Key Qualifications

  • - 10+ years of Project Management and Design Management experience working at either a Design agency or in-house as part of a team developing graphic design solutions for technology or similar products.
  • - You care deeply about product graphics and design. You have appreciation for quality, can communicate clearly, and have patience for the process-both in engineering and design.
  • - You have a deep understanding and command of project management tools and have worked closely with operations and program management teams on project workflow and the design process.
  • - You have a proven ability to learn quickly and can be flexible in evolving and often ambiguous environments.
  • - You have knowledge of digital assets and mechanical build workflow and approval cycle.
  • - You love the details (highly meticulous), simultaneously demonstrating the ability to envision a macro-view of design objectives and foresee potential roadblocks.
  • - You are inventive and enthusiastic, a problem solver, at ease with being part of a growing organization. You dream of working in a creative environment, learn quickly, and you can accommodate rapid change.
  • - You are passionate about supporting team-culture, are a strong team partner and mentor.
  • - You have basic knowledge of database management, digital literacy and solid understanding of Adobe Creative suite. (Design background a plus)

Description

The Manager will help assist their producers in running schedules for several categories of products and partners with a range of cross-functional teams outside of Marcom. These teams include legal, worldwide regulatory, environmental, product manufacturing, product design, product marketing, and industrial design. They will help these teams to understand the project roadmap, design limitations and requirements as it relates to product development (both domestic and international requirements that are relevant for product distribution).

They will partner with a team of hardworking designers to ensure the execution of product graphic design that reflects Apple standards for simplicity and elegance. This role is vital to insuring the delivery of accurate artwork and on-time results at each stage of design development. This person applies their experience of typography standards, line-weights, the application across varying surfaces (plastics/metals/fibers/other material), as well as with an assortment of printing methods. Their responsibilities will also include oversight on project status, priorities and approvals for launch execution, facilitating design direction and brainstorming with Product Graphics Designers and Industrial Design to develop and finalize graphic studies.

The Product Graphics Manager will be a point of contact for leadership and will update internal partners and vendors. They understand the legal, regulatory, environmental, and manufacturing constraints related to each category partner with their designer to implement. They also consistently re-evaluate workflow for efficiencies and identify tools and process improvement opportunities for the group.

Education & Experience

BA/BS degree (Graphic Design or Industrial Design focus preferred)
