Job Description

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is currently seeking a Co-op Student in the Test Engineering Division (TEN) for the Spring of 2019. TEN researches next generation Hardware in the Loop (HITL) test systems used to analyze and test emerging Electronic Warfare (EW) and Avionics systems that protect US and allied aircraft. These complex HITL systems use the latest hardware and software components and subsystems to replicate real-world engagements of EW systems under test with threat systems; this is critical for understanding and validating the performance of these systems. This broad range of tasking will provide a solid foundation for the student as a future software developer. The student will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers performing one or more of the following activities:

  • Object-oriented software design and development
  • Embedded software design and development
  • Database design and application

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering 
  • Must be registered for co-op credit with your university
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in 1 or more programming languages
  • Ability to perform research independently
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while working on multiple projects
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts

Hours per Week

40 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
