Project Controller (Experienced)

We are seeking qualified Project Controllers for several departments at our California site to partner with our engineering teams. Are you passionate about project controls? You would join our dynamic and multi-disciplinary team to use your expertise to manage and analyze project status and report progress on deliverables. You will develop/manage schedules, and analyze and track cost performance.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Create and maintain program schedule status, coordinating the integration of forecasts across the program.
+ Coordinate and facilitate communication across the nuclear security enterprise to ensure a high fidelity cohesive integrated master schedule.
+ Generate and analyze Earned Value reports that align with customer requirements
+ Develop schedule performance and forecasts, consolidate findings, and report analysis technical line partners and external customers.
+ Administer change control to schedules, ensuring that all changes are documented via the appropriate change control process.
+ Partner with staff, project leads and managers to make recommendations to influence key decision makers within the scope of project controls (work breakdown structure, schedule, and budget/cost).

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant discipline plus 5 or more years of experience in Project Controls; or Masters degree in relevant discipline plus 1 or more years of demonstrated experience in Project Controls.
+ Ability to obtain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.

Desired:

+ Active Q or Top Secret clearance.
+ Ability to interface with management at all levels.
+ Experience working on dynamic teams, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, project sponsors and customers, and suppliers.
+ Effective interpersonal skills and experience interfacing with science and engineering technical management and staff.
+ Knowledge of the Nuclear Weapons complex and product realization process.
+ Experience working with the Department of Energy, the National Nuclear Security Administration, or the Department of Defense.
+ Project management education and certification(s).
+ Experience with Earned Value Management principles and methodology, including experience using Primavera P6 and COBRA, or other Earned Value engine.
+ Proficiency in tools and applications commonly employed in project management activities.
+ Experience leading projects throughout all phases: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, Closing

Department Description:

The Sandia California site has multiple Project Controls departments within the Nuclear Deterrence Portfolio. These teams are responsible for executing the project controls responsibilities for the modernization and stockpile Nuclear Weapons Programs. The Nuclear Weapons Programs are responsible for assuring the safety, reliability and security of U.S. nuclear weapons, enabling the defense of our nation through our nuclear strategic deterrent. The Nuclear Weapons Programs three principal thrusts are: (1) overseeing the enduring nuclear weapons stockpile; (2) innovative analyses and evolution of warhead systems, subsystems, and components; their production and deployment; along with the development of supporting technologies; (3) and the safe, effective, and environmentally responsible dismantlement and disposal of weapons retired from the stockpile. The project controllers plan, execute, manage, and report cost, schedule, performance associated with moderate to large scale science, technology, and engineering (ST&E) efforts that span the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) enterprise. These departments are also an integral part of the Division 8000 Nuclear Weapons (NW) Project Management Office (PMO). Project Controllers may be assigned to a variety of different programs including the Mark 21 Fuze, W80-4 Life Extension Program, W87-1 Modification Program, B83, W87, and W80 Stockpile Programs, and a variety of Nuclear Weapon component teams.

Security Clearance:
