Job Description

This position is for a Project Manager working with team members for planning, managing and executing support for multiple Department of Defense (DoD) sponsors including but not limited to the Joint Staff, Defense Security Service, etc.). Responsibilities include ensuring on-time project delivery, maintaining budget goals and delivering high-quality service. Individual will be required to Identify, rationalize, monitor and control interdependencies between tasks, dealing with escalated issues among the tasks that comprise the project. Serve as team lead responsible for reviewing technical requirements, identifying tasks, obtaining, assigning and coordinating resources. Define project governance through developing and maintaining project management plans and schedules. Provide prompt resolutions to project issues. Provide risk management through risk definition, risk assessment, and risk management using alternative project and execution pathways. Establish and maintain essential customer relationships. Provide high-level subject matter expertise for the program and help define future technology roadmaps. Develop competency in project and financial management and be involved in managing team and formulating business strategy.

Education & Length of Experience

Senior Research Scientist

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering; Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Mechanical Engineering; Cyber Security, Information Security, Project Management and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degreein Engineering; Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Mechanical Engineering; Cyber Security, Information Security, Project Management and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Engineering; Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Mechanical Engineering; Cyber Security, Information Security, Project Management and four (4) years' relevant full-time experience. For candidates holding the Doctoral degree, the last two (2) years of employment prior to employment at Georgia Tech will be considered if adequately documented, and the four-year time in grade requirement be reduced to two (2) years for candidates so qualified.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Required: 10+ years in project leadership/management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desired: 3+ years managing information/data sharing demonstrations, experimentation and/or implementation within DOD

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
