Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Reliability Engineering with test planning, support, execution, and reporting.
  • Supervise technicians as required.
  • Evaluate and assign disposition to nonconforming material, and analyze quality data and recommend containment actions to continuously reduce in-process and field defect rates to Supplier Quality Engineer.
  • In support of and under the direction of Supplier Quality Engineer, design and conduct failure analysis on part failures.
  • Prepare inspection plans and instructions and train inspectors as required.
  • Perform and document material purges and inspections/tests to quality assurance standards as required.
  • Design and build component test fixtures under the guidance of Supplier Quality Engineer.
  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Two-year electronics technology or related associate degree
4+ years experience in electronic materials quality or manufacturing
Proficient with analog and digital electronic components evaluation
Proficient with inspection and test techniques and instruments
Proficient with mechanical drawings, specifications, and materials
Working knowledge of sheet metal, printed wiring boards, adhesives, and plastic components
ASQ Quality Technician certification
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with C and assembly languages
Working knowledge of O.S. and computer equipment
Proficient with sheet metal, printed wiring boards, adhesives, and plastic components
Working knowledge of quality assurance and control methods
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

Experience with supervising others
