Quantum computing has the potential to transform the industry by achieving large computational speed-ups over classical computers. Advances in quantum technologies have propelled quantum computing from a theoretical physics field to experimental physics and engineering. A challenge for the computer industry is to design and implement a reliable quantum computer that can efficiently execute quantum algorithms.

Come join us as part of a small Intel Labs team exploring quantum computer systems engineering and architecture. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team building Intel's first quantum computers.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Helping the team to further design the software toolchain for quantum computer systems. This software toolchain includes quantum compiler, runtime, qubit control processor and interface development in software.
• Explore the performance of technology alternatives, and collaborate with algorithm and application researchers to explore hardware/software trade-offs
• Collaborate with both the quantum computing hardware and software teams
• Engage with external toolchain users

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.

Qualifications

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences

Minimum Qualifications:

• The candidate must possess a PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• 1+ years experience in leading tutorials on Quantum Software
• 1+ years experience in experience in object-oriented programming using C++ and Python
• 1+ years experience in experience with different Quantum Software toolchains

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$113,500.00-$170,120.00
