Quantum
computing has the potential to transform the industry by achieving
large computational speed-ups over classical computers. Advances in
quantum technologies have propelled quantum computing from a
theoretical physics field to experimental physics and engineering.
A challenge for the computer industry is to design and implement a
reliable quantum computer that can efficiently execute quantum
algorithms.
Come join us as part of a small
Intel Labs team exploring quantum computer systems engineering and
architecture. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team
building Intel's first quantum
computers.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design control systems for qubit technologies,
Integrate quantum software and hardware into a full computer system,
Explore the performance of micro-architecture, control and qubit technology alternatives, and collaborate with algorithm and architecture researchers to explore hardware/software trade-offs,
Collaborate with researchers across Intel to engineer systems critical to high performance quantum machines.
This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related degrees.
1+ years of experience in below areas:
- Quantum computing research
- Demonstrated ability to deliver significant results in a multidisciplinary environment. This position requires close collaboration with both hardware and software teams.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in both analog and digital electronics design for real device technologies
- 1+ years of experience in developing both hardware and software tools
