What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a R&D Computer Engineer/Scientist to conduct research and development for applications that will perform complex calculations in support of national security programs. On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Develop software and test cases for automated testing.

+ Partner with architects, developers, technical leads, customers, and end users to collect requirements, develop vision, design solutions, and deliver high quality and easy-to-use software applications.

+ Document project progress to partners.

+ Develop reports.

+ Seek opportunities to grow your skills and to expand the impact of the team's capabilities.

This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience;

+ or combination of education and experience (Master's + 1 year experience)

+ Experience with:

+ software development and modern software development practices and tools

+ full software development life cycle using an agile method

+ web-based application development with HTML5, JavaScript and .Net(VB or C#)

+ The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Degree(s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering

+ A strong analytical background, either through work experience or formal education

+ Experience with large, complex scientific and technical application development in a configuration-controlled environment

+ Programming skills in MVC, Angular

+ Experience working in a manufacturing environment

+ Experience in software design, software architecture, and software refactoring

+ Experience with graphical user interface (GUI) development

+ Experience with information assurance policies and practices

+ Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary development teams

About Our Team:

Sandia National Laboratories Microsystems and Engineering Sciences Applications (MESA) complex provides outstanding processing capability in semiconductor microfabrication. The MESA Fab facility is subdivided into 2 areas: 12,500 sq. ft., class 1 cleanroom silicon wafer fab that produces radiation hardened CMOS integrated circuit technology and micro-electromechanical (MEMs) devices, and 16,600 sq. ft., class 10 cleanroom fabrication area that produces compound semiconductor circuits and devices and back-end of line metallization and packaging. Department 05234, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) supports the programming, security and computing needs of the MESA complex

Security Clearance:
