Do you want to do work that serves the national security mission? We are seeking software engineers to design and develop software for a high throughput, high volume data processing mission. Our experts work within the Agile framework to deliver creative solutions for sophisticated real-time decision support systems. On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Research, develop, and engineer unique software solutions and algorithms in a computer vision domain



+ Develop multi-threaded applications in a near real-time data processing framework



+ Architect and design high-throughput, high volume distributed system solutions



+ Apply object oriented design principles for highly extensible software



+ Perform data analytics and data engineering activities to tune and verify algorithms



+ Drive or support emerging technologies or data processing improvement areas





This position will be hired into job title R&D Computer Science.













Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor's in relevant STEM field plus five years' experience; or master's degree in relevant STEM field plus one year of experience; or PhD in relevant STEM field



+ Experience with object-oriented software development in C++



+ Experience with Linux operating environments



+ Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q and SCI clearances





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Degree(s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering



+ Experience with high-throughput data processing software development



+ Experience optimizing software in multi-core, distributed, or GPU compute environments



+ Experience with software development in C and/or Python



+ Proven record of communicating ideas and results both verbally and in writing



+ Experiencing leading and delivering complex technical projects



+ Experience architecting and designing complex software and utilization of SysML/UML



+ Ability to translate ideas, concepts and designs into software applications



+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team



+ Current DOE clearance and/or ability to obtain a SCI clearance, which may require polygraph testing





About Our Team:



The Real Time Data Processing Department develops software, algorithms, and distributed computer systems for real-time extraction of static and dynamic events. Skills within the department include signal and image processing; statistical inference; data fusion; image registration; image compression; pattern recognition; radiometric calibration; compressive sensing; human-computer interfaces; data visualization; and design, implementation, deployment, operational user support, and maintenance of collaborative decision support systems.

Security Clearance:



Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
