+ We are seeking a R&D S&E, Electrical Engineering
+ On any given day, you may be called on to:
+ Plan and direct technical projects to execute tools and processes that enable the Electrical CAD (ECAD) / printed circuit board (PCB) department to further advance the engineering services provided at the labs.
+ Aid engineers in schematic creation, serve as a PCB layout subject matter expert, make decisions in material selection and specification for all PWB products, make design for manufacturing specifications for PWB products, simulate electrical designs, and provide feedback to clients.
+ Mentor and train junior staff.
+ Interface between the ECAD department and clients, as well as execute strategic initiatives.
+ Simulate models of our systems.
+ Be forward-looking and proactive in approaches to model-based engineering.
+ Use the scientific method to discover new ways to do the simulations, to understand the results, and to formulate methods and processes and solutions to the data discovered from the simulations.
+ Provide early guidance on design for manufacturing capabilities.
+ Use a deep and thorough understanding of manufacturing, processes, materials, and design selection

You may be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organization at Sandia

Required:

+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
+ Experience with Mentor Graphics tool suite

Desired:

+ Current and active US DOE Q clearance
+ Experience and skills in manufacturing printed wiring boards
+ Electrical circuit design
+ Understanding of Electrical CAD applications, PCB fabrication, and/or software systems
+ Ability to develop, document, and maintain engineering processes
+ Proven ability to deliver large and complex projects
+ Knowledge and understanding of the NW engineering systems and the NNSA product realization process
+ Knowledge and experience in material selection and specification for PWB products
+ Knowledge and experience in design for manufacturing specifications for PWB products
+ Circuit design experience
+ Ability to determine training needs of a department and develop training material
+ Demonstrated ability to team well with internal and external partners and customers.
+ Configuration management specific training and or application
+ Demonstrated success with SPP/SIPP programs
+ Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure and/or ambiguous environment
+ Demonstrated teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, functions, project sponsors and customers, and suppliers
+ Demonstrated effectiveness working in an environment with dynamic conditions, competing priorities, and firm deadlines
+ Demonstrated ability to understand and work with a diverse set of technologies
+ Demonstrated competency to discover, understand and articulate constraints & develop options and paths-forward
