The Advanced Engagement Systems (5334) department is seeking a highly motivated, mission-driven, and hardworking Electrical Engineer with software defined radio and digital communications experience. Your primary focus will be to support the development of specialized RF communications systems for national security applications. This position does require occasional travel within the Continental U.S. for field testing. Projects within 5334 range from quick reaction requests in response to real-world driven needs to longer term efforts with rigorous development requirements. You will become a member of a multi-discipline, success oriented, and high-performance team.

The successful candidate:

+ will need to adapt to changing requirements and shift between priorities sometimes with little notice to meet customer expectations
+ will have to be self-driven, needing little direction to contribute to long-term and short-term program objectives

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Develop SDR communications architecture for custom or COTS RF assemblies
+ Support SW development for SDR components and subsystems within a complex and resource limited system
+ Document build processes, test plans, and test results
+ Analyze and test associated RF designs in harsh real-world environments

Required:

+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline plus 2 years experience
+ 2 or more years of SDR experience
+ Experience with GNU Radio, X-Midas, or similar signal processing toolset
+ Experience programming (C++/Python)
+ Familiarity with RF test instrumentation
+ Familiarity with RF communication systems and technologies
+ Familiarity with implementing communications related DSP algorithms
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance, with the possibility of obtaining an SCI clearance that may require a polygraph.

Desired:

Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:

+ Experience with SW release, versioning control, and configuration management.
+ Networking experience (e.g., VLANs, TACLANEs).
+ Familiarity with event-driven systems.
+ Familiarity with embedded development.
+ Familiarity with design of advanced RF systems and components.
+ Active DOE Q or DoD TS security clearance.
+ Active SCI with a polygraph test.
