What Your Job Will Be Like:





Are you passionate using your systems and data engineering talents in an agile environment to provide creative solutions for national security initiatives?



Join us a R&D Systems Engineer and use your knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MSBE), semantic techniques and tools, and passion for data management! You will provide innovative solutions and thought leadership to the organization regarding the use and structure of data.



We use modern software frameworks and practices to tackle big-data challenges for the nuclear weapons enterprise. The department is part of the Advanced Systems & Transformation organization; developing safe, secure, trusted, and mission-capable weapon designs and architectures using rapid development cycles, innovative design methodologies, and advanced evaluation techniques.



On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Enable and promote the efficient, effective, accurate, and secure use of data throughout the product realization lifecycle in support of the ND Data Strategy.



+ Serve as a liaison to various ND governance councils and boards and utilize a deep understanding of the ND Product Realization Process to cultivate relationships that enable data stewardship within ND organizations and projects.



+ Perform technical analyses and develop recommendations to support data remediation, ontologies, data standards, and data models within ND programs.



+ Produce data architecture standards and policies guiding data development, analytics, and practices. Influence business and IT standards and policies.



+ Guide, influence, and participate in the implementation of a variety of data strategy capabilities, including cloud computing, data catalogs and services, data authorization solutions, data access logging, and data analytics.



+ Review solution architectures and designs for alignment to applicable standards and policies. Advise projects on data architecture standards, policies, and procedures.



+ Research, identify, and evaluate current and future techniques for data driven/digital engineering and data governance. Influence the adoption of data driven techniques across the Product Realization Lifecycle.











Qualifications We Require:





+ Master’s degree in STEM or other advanced degree plus 1 year of experience;



+ or Bachelor’s degree in STEM or other technical field plus 5 years’ experience







+ Proven experience with MBSE, master data management, enterprise architecture, and/or data modeling techniques and tools. Thorough understanding of data architectural patterns and frameworks.



+ Experience with ontologies, taxonomies, and other information architecture and semantic web concepts.





Qualifications We Desire:





+ 2+ years of Nuclear Deterrence (Nuclear Weapons) domain experience. Knowledge of multiple areas within the ND domain. Strong understanding of NW Product Realization Lifecycle.



+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that allow effective, dedicated working relationships in a dynamic team environment. Adept at simplifying and explaining complex technical concepts to colleagues



+ Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and projects.



+ Active DOE Q Clearance.



+ Strong analytical skills.
