What Your Job Will Be Like:



We are seeking a Test Engineer/LabVIEW Developer to deliver control, test, and measurement solutions for nuclear deterrence and other high-consequence national security projects. This opening provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a scientific or engineering background to make significant contributions to Sandia on a Tier 1 program.



Our teams of engineers and scientists have a deep understanding of our customers’ missions and their challenges. Combining this mission knowledge with our capabilities to extract data from a broad range of sources (sensors, testers, telemetry, etc.), drives knowledge creation that is actionable for our customers.



On any given day, you may be called on to:• Implement LabVIEW test code in an object-oriented method.• Troubleshoot and resolve tester software anomalies.• Modify tester software to maintain compatibility with developing component and system design requirements.• Design, document, and ensure tester software provides required data to testing team.• Utilize tester software knowledge and experience to assist other development tester projects and product realization teams.• Lead software technical reviews and mentor junior level team members







Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related field plus (5) or more years’ related experience; or equivalent related experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform independent research and development.



+ Experience with LabVIEW.



+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance upon hire.





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or LabVIEW Architect (CLA), or equivalent experience without the certification.



+ Experience with other National Instrument software packages such as TestStand, DIAdem, VeriStand, InstrumentStudio, etc.



+ Experience programing and using oscilloscopes, DMM, Digitizers, Timing, FPGA, logic/network/ spectrum analyzers, function/pulse generators, etc..



+ Experience troubleshooting communication interfaces; LAN, USB, SPI…



+ Hands-on experience testing and debugging circuitry.



+ Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment.



+ Ability to work with a team and delineate tasks and responsibilities appropriately.



+ Ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines.



+ Strong communication skills (especially technical writing skills) and interpersonal skills.

The Weapons Design and Assurance Center (7600) is a multi-discipline, product-focused organization that provides engineering design, components, subsystems, integration, testing, and field support for nuclear weapons and other high-consequence national security applications. Examples of these applications include the development of satellite and other space-flight and airborne payloads, testing for high consequence military programs, nuclear weapon safety mechanisms, high reliability electronic products, telemetry and software systems, and data science and analytics. The Center is divided into four main competencies: Advanced Mechanical Design, Firing & Embedded Systems, Hi-Reliability Electronic Products, and Data Systems Engineering.
