We are seeking R&D data scientists/engineers/analysts who will:

+ Collaborate in a multitude of subject areas (systems engineering, data science, physics, computer science, software engineering) to analyze and test mission capabilities using both simulation and operational data

+ Apply system knowledge to analyze, test, and characterize mission capabilities of detection systems through data

+ Employ understanding of complex systems to advise on and perform:

+ System specification formulation

+ Test design and execution

+ System performance evaluations

+ Model/algorithm development

+ Mission trending

+ Anomaly identification and investigation

+ Design and implement high-fidelity test, research, and development endeavors for current and future systems

+ Develop and apply foundational physics, sensing systems, and algorithmic understanding to high consequence systems

+ Advance modeling, simulation and analysis capabilities of the organization

+ Present and document results to peers, program leads, and customers to inform actions/investments

+ Integrate with a dynamic team that features:

+ Applied understanding of complex system of systems

+ Expertise in test design, execution, analysis, and reporting

+ Innovative analysis solutions

On any given day you may be called on to:

+ Engage with teams to solve difficult scientific problems for national security purposes

+ Apply state-of-the art techniques to exciting data analysis problems

+ Work with customers to understand requirements, available data and mission needs

+ Assess current and future system mission performance through modeling, simulation, and analysis techniques, implementing software solutions to aid in said analyses

+ Engage in areas including data fusion, signal processing, analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, modeling and simulation, service oriented architectures, physics, engineering, big-data management and visualization, and pattern recognition

+ Engage in Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) proposals

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

This job will be hired into job title R&D S&E Computer Science.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Bachelor's and master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or other relevant STEM degree; or bachelor's degree as stated plus 4 years directly related experience may also be considered

+ Experience with modeling, scientific computing, machine/deep learning, or image and signal processing

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

+ PhD in a relevant STEM field

+ Knowledge of or experience with:

+ Full stack software development using modern software development practices and tools

+ Full life cycle software systems engineering

+ Writing proposals

+ Publishing and presenting on complex technical topics

+ Implementation of software development using Agile or other iterative methodologies

+ Developing critical data processing and analysis systems

+ Technical leadership experience

+ Ability to work independently and within teams and sub-teams

+ Proven strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

+ Outstanding communication and presentation skills

+ Ability to balance and complete multiple tasks and priorities

+ Strong passion for service and can-do response to questions/requests

+ Active Q clearance

+ Ability to obtain SCI clearance

The Software Simulation and Analysis department performs research and development to advance flexible, extensible, and robust large-scale software applications for remote sensing system-level simulation as well as real-time remote sensing ground station data processing that transform data to knowledge enabling our customers to take action with confidence.

Security Clearance:
