Salary Range:



$86,300 - $166,800



*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

We are seeking a R&D Systems Engineer.

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join the Weapons Systems Engineering Center.



On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Resolve technical and programmatic design, development, qualification and production challenges in a collaborative manner with multiple internal and external agencies



+ Demonstrate technical leadership in identifying and managing technical risks



+ Analyze system performance against requirements



+ Support the completion of functional and interface component requirements



+ Update design definition and documentation



+ Assess, plan, and report progress relative to program plan



+ Work with engineers from multiple external organizations







Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor of Science degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience



+ Plus, (2) years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job



+ Equivalent experience in lieu of degrees must be engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.



+ Position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Desire and ability to work on and communicate challenging issues with dynamic conditions, competing priorities, and firm deadlines in an ever-changing environment with urgency



+ Demonstrated effective communication skills, internally and externally



+ Experience in a nuclear weapon system or component organization



+ Demonstrated experience in systems engineering



+ Demonstrated ability to integrate, build and work effectively across technical teams, collaborate with customers and partners to resolve issues and conduct trade-offs to identify system solutions



+ Experience with DOD or DOE programs



+ Active US DOE Q-level security clearance or DOD Top Secret clearance





About Our Team:



The Weapon Systems Engineering Centers manage modernization for multiple nuclear weapon systems. The Centers lead the Laboratories’ efforts to develop integrated engineering solutions that maintain weapon-system-required military effectiveness and reliability while seeking improvements in safety and security. The Centers provide systems engineering, integration, qualification, and product realization expertise for nuclear weapon system modernization programs from concept development through initial operating capability.

Security Clearance:
