Radio Engineer: Responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of two Private Land Mobile Radio (PLMR) systems in use at the Fort Worth facility. Works with radio vendors of a Motorola proprietary design called “MotoTRBO” and a Motorola implementation of the “Motorola P-25” (“APX Family” standard”. Both systems are “trunked”, meaning they dynamically assign frequencies to “talk-groups” as they are needed

Frequency Manager: Interacts and coordinates with internal and external Radio Frequency users including subject matter experts, RF engineers, Program Management, and Supply Chain Management to provide guidance, assistance, and management of radio frequencies to insure all RF emitters are certified, licensed, and operated in accordance to federal government regulations and coordinated, operational, and scheduled requirements. Uses knowledge of radio equipment, radio emissions, and radio propagation characteristics to review and analyze technical data for accuracy and format for submittal to the appropriate government agency to acquire equipment and platform certification and transmit authorization. Responsible for all government issued Radio Frequency Authorizations

Must be a US citizen. This position requires special access and will require a Secret clearance

Basic Qualifications
Technical knowledge of radio spectrum and terminology, including: transmission, frequency, spectrum, waveforms, modulation types, bandwidth, amplitude, power, transmission lines, shielding, antenna, antenna designs, polarization, gain, coupling, impedance, impedance matching, and signal reflections.

Basic understanding of aircraft RF emitters including communication radio, navigational aids, radar, data links, telemetry, IFF, and electronic warfare. Basic understanding of aeronautical navigation and communication spectrum, spectrum allocation, and the evolving spectrum congestion.

Knowledge of government regulations and processes including FCC licensing, NTIA RF authorizations, and DoD certification and authorization processes. Familiarity with Motorola based PLMR systems a huge plus

Desired skills
Knowledge and in depth understanding of the FCC licensing process and the NTIA RF authorization and certification process and related regulations, including Title 47 with emphasis on Parts 5, 15, 87, 90, and 300 (NTIA Redbook). Familiarity with DD1494, EL-CID, Spectrum XXI, and Government Master File (GMF).

Experience coordinating with national level spectrum management offices including the 88th Communications Group, the Air Force Spectrum Management Office (AFSMO), the Navy and Marine Spectrum Center (NMSC), and Area Frequency Management Offices
