Radiological Control Technologist (Early/Mid-Career)

If so, you could be the highly motivated individual we are seeking to join our team as a Radiological Control Technologist.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Conduct tests and field investigations to support environmental, engineering, scientific and mission support personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling radiation hazards
+ Conduct and document radiological surveys, monitor radiological work and prescribe radiological controls for various radiological activities
+ Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies
+ Assist with training of line personnel in area of radiological safety
+ Utilize your knowledge and experience with radiation protection and monitoring
+ Apply requirements specified in 10CFR835 or 10CFR20.
+ Work outdoors in all types of weather, confined spaces, and elevated surfaces
+ Work around potential industrial hazards such as chemical, electrical, mechanical, biological, laser, noise, and ergonomicRequired:

+ High School diploma or equivalent
+ Three or more years of experience as a Radiological Control Technologist or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
+ Must pass routine testing of DOE Core qualifications material with a grade of 80% or higher
+ _This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license. The successful candidate would have to provide proof of a valid driver's license when offered employment_

+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. of monitoring and associated equipment on a daily basis
+ Frequent travel to Albuquerque, NM will be required in the first year of employment for training


+ AS or BS in science, technology, engineering or mathematics field (STEM).
+ Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to radiation protection, including 10CFR835 or 10CFR20
+ ANSI 3.1 qualification
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, and ability to team effectively with other RCTs, engineers, scientists, and technicians
+ Basic computer skills (office suite)
+ 3-5 years of applicable experience
+ Basic computer skills (MS Office)
+ NRRPT registered

Department Description:

The Department provides Occupational Health and Safety Engineering support services to Division 8000, including the CA site and personnel. Support includes: radiation protection, industrial hygiene, chemical management, safety engineering and ergonomics.

Security Clearance:
