NSA has an excellent opportunity available in our Occupational Health, Environmental, and Safety Services (OHESS) Department for a Registered Nurse. OHESS supports NSA by promoting, assessing, and optimizing the health and well-being of the workforce and workplace. OHESS strives to be the Intelligence Community's premiere provider of occupational health services, employee assistance programs, environmental and safety solutions, psychological assessments, and emergency management.

As a Registered Nurse at NSA, you will have the opportunity to work directly with patients, healthcare providers, psychologists, management, and other support services. You will provide direct patient care and education in an effort to promote employee health, prevent illness or injury, and protect employees from occupational or environmental hazards.

At NSA, you will have the opportunity to maximize your knowledge and skills in the following areas:

--Occupational exposures, assessments, surveillance, and regulations. Individualized employee assessments to identify any occupational hazards that may result in adverse health effects as well as health issues that may affect job functions. Educating employees on occupational exposures, their effects, and methods for prevention. Management of a medical surveillance program.

--On-the-job injury evaluation and care, acute illness triage, and emergency medical care and response, to include BLS services. First-line medical assessments of patients in a workplace clinic setting.

--Individual and population-level health education aimed at improving or maintaining overall health and well-being, individualized screening for specific diseases, and developing and using health risk assessment tools for identification of health strengths and opportunities in an employee population.

--Travel medicine assessments, to include evaluations of patients to determine fitness for travel, education regarding possible exposures and health risks, and administration of vaccinations and medications.
