RF Electronics Technologist (Early/Mid-Career)

Albuquerque, NM

We are seeking a motivated technologist\. You will support the development of advanced RF electronics systems that are essential to national safety and security\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Assemble and test RF electrical assemblies\.
+ Readjust custom electronics circuits\.
+ Conduct field testing of electronics including test planning, coordination, and execution\.
+ Coordinate with production partners on test specs, processes, and non\-conforming product\.
+ Procure, evaluate, and organize parts\.
+ Fabricate cables and circuit boards\.
+ Document build processes and test results\.

You may need to occasionally travel for field tests\. You could be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organizations\.


+ You will have a technical Associate's degree; 4 years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of the associates degree\.
+ You will bring experience with electronic test equipment including power supplies, multi\-meters, and oscilloscopes\.
+ Your background will include experience with RF equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and power amplifiers\.
+ You will need to have had prior experience assembling, testing, and fixing electronic circuitry\.
+ You can obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance\.


Your background should include:

+ Bachelors of Science degree in a relevant field;
+ Experience with automated instrument control;
+ LabVIEW or MATLAB programming experience;
+ High level programming language experience;
+ Field test experience and support;
+ Planning, coordination, and documentation of testing, including field tests;
+ PWB assembly, soldering, and inspection;
+ IPC\-610 Solder and Inspection Certification;
+ Potting materials and vacuum chamber processes;
+ Strong communication and teaming skills with development teams and external partners;
+ Understanding of wireless communication electronics and related systems;
+ Performing antenna measurements;
+ Laying out and assembling electronic chassis/enclosures;
+ Active DOE or DOD security clearance\.

The RF & Systems Electronics Center \(Center 5300\) provides key electronics systems technology to a wide variety of nuclear weapons, space, intelligence and military programs across Sandia and the Nation\. Our team supports our nations technology superiority strategies by delivering capabilities for RF & spectral dominance, global highly\-reliable communications, and novel advancements for future strength\. Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
