Job Description

Direct research projects in robotics and unmanned autonomous vehicles and systems.

Education & Length of Experience

  • Research Engineer/Scientist II
  • A Master’s degree in an engineering field required (Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering or Computer Science preferred) and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Doctoral degree in in an engineering field required (Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering or Computer Science preferred).

Required Minimum Qualifications

Experience in generation of research reports, publications, proposals, and briefs to customers, requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with state-of-the-art algorithms on autonomous air, ground or indoor mobile robot systems.

We are looking for strong candidates who are self-motivated, have extensive, demonstrated C/C++ programming skills, follow software engineering best practices and a have strong mathematical foundation and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with fast prototyping in MATLAB and/or python as well as experience in integrating and deploying these algorithms for real-time operation on a robot in real world environments is a plus.

Experience in one of the following areas is desired
• Multi-robot collaboration
• Path planning and navigation
• Behavior based robotics
• Optimal control and estimation
• Machine learning for robotic control

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
