We are seeking a proactive and team-oriented Safeguards & Security (S&S) Planning & Operations Specialist to join our team! On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Facilitate requirement compliance by working with S&S Program stakeholders and subject matter experts to determine level of effort necessary to meet requirements.
+ Determine required resources and conduct activities necessary to ensure implementation of applicable requirements.
+ Develop implementation plans, request deviations, authorize approvals, and maintain the requirements compliance traceability matrix which demonstrates compliance by linking compliance evidence to a specific requirement in the DOORS database.
+ Coordinate the comprehensive review and completion of Site Security Plans (SSPs) to ensure that SSPs are current and in compliance with contract requirements.

Required:

+ Bachelors degree in Business, Communications, Information Security/Assurance, Criminology, Public Administration, or other relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired:

Ideally, your background would also include experience with the following:

+ Requirements management and development.
+ DOE Orders or other government requirements.
+ Leading/guiding management decisions and providing project management expertise.

Department Description:

The Strategy & Program Operations Department is part of Sandia's Safeguard & Security (S&S) Center, whose primary function is the protection and support of Sandia's mission, information, resources, and people. We strive to develop strategic partnerships and provide effective tools and resources to fully integrate security into every aspect of the work performed at Sandia. The Strategy & Operations Department is responsible for leading efforts in the development, implementation, and successful execution of a diverse portfolio of S&S-related initiatives involving strategy and operations. The department is responsible for program operations such as strategic planning, risk management, requirements management, program communications, performance monitoring, assessments, corrective actions, and management review. Additionally, the department is responsible for leading S&S quality initiatives and for applying quality standards across the S&S program to ensure effective, efficient, and quality processes are executed. The department also provides support for special projects and executive-level briefings.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
