Position Summary

The sales and commercial operations manager will manage the internal operations to support sales activities for all business areas of GNS. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Managed Care and the Pharma sales and account management teams to provide support for their business development activities. They must be able to work effectively across GNS' groups and at all levels of client organizations and thrive within a fast-paced and exciting team environment. They will play a critical role in the company's success and take great pride in seeing the results of their work in closed contracts.  In this role, the ideal candidate will have responsibility for:

  • Assisting in developing forecasts and pipeline reports utilizing salesforce for all business areas of GNS.
  • Turning accepted proposals into contract material, such as Statements of Work. Work with internal teams and clients to facilitate an efficient contracting process.
  • Customizing salesforce, as needed, to facilitate customized reporting 
  • Optimizing current processes and developing additional tools, as needed, to ensure an efficient framework for the organization of proposals.  Standardize processes for efficiency
  • Working with internal team to develop/optimize materials for proposals.  Develop a library of materials to be used for future proposals. 
  • Management/coordination of KOLs on retainer and identify new KOLs for future needs
  • Manage the Client Value and Satisfaction Process and develop metrics for continual improvement
  • Assist with generating project cost and timeline calculations.  Work with finance to monitor profitability and resource allocation post contract signing 
  • Detailed project planning of tasks for scope of work, including deliverables for each task
  • Monitoring sales dashboard to measure success and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Interact with the Operations and Delivery teams to ensure progress to plan and resource constraints.


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5+ years of work experience in a sales operations or commercial operations role
  • Experience working in the life sciences or healthcare industry preferred
  • Experience working in a professional services organization preferred 
  • Experience optimizing processes and streamlining activities to increase sales effectiveness
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite programs (predominantly Excel and PowerPoint) required. Experience with SharePoint a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, high energy and enthusiasm. Ability to work proactively
  • Experience using Salesforce.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, detail orientation, and prioritizing skills
