You will join a team of accomplished security technologists to uniquely focus on the definition of next generation of security solutions. Your work will help in laying the foundation for future Intel products .As a Research Scientist in the Security and Privacy Research group, you will have the opportunity to deeply influence the shape of both the software and hardware architectures that undergird a wide variety of usages to address exploits, malware, and other evolving security threats. This role involves defining, prototyping, evaluating, and presenting novel approaches for enforcing security properties across a spectrum of devices, including server, client, and IOT platforms.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
- Contribute to scientific literature via papers and presentations.
- Initiate the design, development, and implementation of security-related scientific research projects to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of data processing and network communications related to new and existing business opportunities.
- Use scientific methods to investigate the feasibility of novel concepts typically 5-7+ years prior to landing on a product roadmap.
- Validate ideas through prototyping, including systems software (Operating Systems, Virtual Machine Monitors, compilers, runtime libraries), CPU simulations, FPGAs and working with CPU/GPU/XPU ISA/hardware/microcode extensions.
- Participate in development of intellectual property related to their research.

Qualifications
You
must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for
this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the
requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top
candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a
combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research
and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a PhD degree program in Computer
Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with knowledge of
security and/or cryptography
concepts.
Experience/knowledge in one or more of the following:
- 1+ years of experience with accelerated computing, e.g., OpenCL, SyCL, or drivers for accelerators
- 1+ year of experience developing substantial LLVM compiler enhancements or other compiler experience.
- 1+ years of experience in modifying the Linux kernel
- 1+ years of experience in security and/or cryptography
- 1+ year of experience with microservices or Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) orchestration frameworks and runtimes
- 1+ year experience modifying linker
- 1+ year experience with virtualization

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
