The Wireless Standards team of
Intel is responsible for pre-standards technology development,
standardization, system engineering and standards ecosystem
engagement on wireless systems. The team covers wireless standards
bodies and industrial forums such as 3GPP, IEEE, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI,
NGMN, GSMA, ITU-R, 5GAA, 5G-ACIA, AECC, IOWN GF, etc. The candidate
will work in this team as a 5G-Advanced/6G Standards Engineer in
defining the future wireless system and standards.
The job position requires work with global standards bodies, frequent travel to North America, Europe, and Asia is required.
As a 5G-Advanced/6G Standards Expert your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Design and standardization of 5G-Advanced/6G features in 3GPP and related SDOs, with a focus on End-to-End System Architectures, Cloud and Edge computing technologies, Immersive Voice and Video Services, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications for 5G-A/6G systems, Management and Orchestration, etc.
Representing Intel in related SDOs (e.g., 3GPP, IETF, Next G Alliance).
Creating intellectual property, writing technical contributions, and defending them in the standards meetings.
Writing meeting reports and providing periodical status updates and tutorials for the features that are defined in the attended working groups.
Works closely with Intel's product teams for technology transfer, interpretation of SDO specifications, and internal/external interface for Intel technology collaboration.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree or a Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
5+ years of experience working with global standards bodies and industry alliances (such as 3GPP, NGMN, IETF, Next G Alliance, etc.) in the wireless arena.
Preferred qualifications:
PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
3GPP Working experience especially in 3GPP SA/CT WGs.
Experience on 5G System architecture, RAN/Core Network protocols and procedures, and features defined in 3GPP Releases (up to Rel-17).
Experience on 3GPP standards (including but not limited to 3GPP LTE/EPC, 3GPP 5G-NR/5GC, 3GPP IMS) and their application on end-to-end product design.
Experience effectively leading multi-functional teams and proficiency in leading technical initiatives across different groups.

Annual Salary
Range for jobs which could be performed in US,
Colorado:
$187,370.00-$299,710.00

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
