Join MITREs Space, Cyber & Intelligence Division (P430) to help define the DoDs future state-of-the-art technologies most critical to success of Highly Contested Environment (HCE) capabilities and enable innovative utilization of legacy systems while also integrating new technologies into a broader enterprise warfighting capability. We are seeking an experienced engineer to provide systems engineering support, technical expertise, and acquisition experience to define architectures, evaluate technologies, and develop implementation and integration strategies to enable responsive Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (C3I) systems. The staff will evaluate alternatives to derive and develop architectures, plans, and designs by using analytic techniques and integrating multiple engineering disciplines to enable the government to Own the Technical Baseline of each system, ensure competition in procurements, foster innovation, and enable an executable burn down of technical risks. And the staff will perform operational requirements development and management by supporting the development of CONOPS, conducting Analyses of Alternatives, and recommending and documenting technical requirements.


Key Functions:

  • Analyze existing/evolving systems to make recommendations regarding system requirements and system-of-systems architectures, collaborating with the operational community throughout the process

  • Work with the operational community to identify/document emerging operational capabilities, capture operational requirements and translate evolving requirements into a definitive architectures and related system requirements documentation

  • Conduct analyses of vendors system developments, both new developments and planned modifications, to assure satisfaction of requirements. Analytic methods to include modeling via use of spreadsheets, MATLAB, OpNet and similar tools

  • Support operational users during the test and fielding of new/enhanced systems.

  • Collaborate with multiple MAJCOMs and program offices to define enterprise level capabilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or MS Electrical Engineering or related degrees (e.g., Computer Engineering or Systems Engineering) or 5+ years of related DoD C3I experience

  • Knowledge/Experience with at least some of the current DoD C3I Systems

  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes

  • Strong analytical, written communication, and verbal communication skills

  • Top Security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and represent our DoD customers interests throughout the life cycle of an acquisition program (i.e., concept development, design, integration, test and fielding)

  • Ability to frame and articulate technical requirements in operational and programmatic terms

  • Familiarity with contents in JASA technical documentation and architectures

  • Experience in developing capability requirements documents and the associated appendices in accordance with the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System

  • Demonstrated experience in working in highly unstructured environments in direct support of senior-level clients
