Responsibilities:
Performant has an immediate opening for a Sr. Data Warehouse Architect/EDI Specialist. We are looking for a technically savvy, highly motivated, entrepreneurial, strategic thinker who is interested in an opportunity to support our Healthcare data centric program using the latest modern data stack.
Creates, manages and designs the client data ingestion process and technical architecture for data procurement into a cloud data warehouse platform. Enforces data warehouse best practices and standards. Responsible for the development, integration, administration, and evolution of the data warehouse and ETL processing frameworks. Follows the data centric roadmap for the data warehouse to support current and future corporate requirements including integration of EDI X12 data pipelines and feeds.
Essential Functions:
The DWA/EDI specialist will architect, design, implement and maintain data interchange systems with external and internal partners and applications into the companys modern data stack which include multi cloud platforms, Snowflake, and EDI pipelines.
Independently designs and codes EDI system pipelines and can lead others in developing cost-effective application and program solutions
Provides technical assistance to facilitate the companys Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities and architectural solutions for the enterprise data platform.
Works with business owners to design scalable solutions to solve the needs of the business and technical functions.
Architects, designs, develops, troubleshoots, and modifies data warehouse based ETLs and structures to procure into a data platform solution.
Develops and maintains Business Intelligence Standards in the cloud environments and on premise.
Acts as subject matter expert for data warehousing flows and EDI movements.
Provides guidance, direction, training, and support to co-workers and team members for best architecture approach using WhereScape Automation, Matillion and Snowflake Data Cloud Platform.
Communicates with subject-matter experts regarding source systems. Provides strategic technology direction and architecture to ensure required level of functionality and performance and manage risk, improve reliability; ensure compliance with architecture standards and audit requirements.
Ensures quality of deliverables, set development standards in areas of code quality, test coverage, monitoring, and logging
Owns the data warehouse automation system design and implementation. Designs and develop large, complex processes that meet business needs for data ingestion, usage and implementation for reporting or batch processing purposes.
Works with business process owners to develop reporting requirements
Researches and analyzes problems; determines alternative solutions and creates action steps to solve the problem; thinks and acts quickly and effectively in a variety of situations
Evolves data models to meet new and changing business requirements
Designs logical and physical data models for informational and operational systems
Works with business to develop data mart models, design specifications, and metadata documentation
Participates in data rationalization activities
Schedules and participates in the data model / enterprise architecture reviews
Serves as a technical expert on in-house business intelligence/reporting tool solutions including SSRS, SSIS, ThoughtSpot (Main focus)

Requirements:
Expert knowledge of ETL techniques and Structured Query Language (SQL) - Must have the ability to write complex, highly optimized queries across large volumes of data.
Experience - minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in healthcare industry EDI X12 exchanges
Fluency with appropriate tools including: Matillion, Pilotfish, SnowSql, Snowflake web interface (classic and snowsight), WhereScape RED , WhereScape 3D, SSIS, SQL Server
Excellent understanding of Snowflake Internals and integration of Snowflake with other data processing and reporting technologies
Extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL / ELT frameworks and data orchestration pipelines with flat and EDI X12 files.
EDI experience includes knowledge of EDI X12 transactions like 837, 835, 276/277, 997/999 with good understanding of EDI transaction sets, data mapping, and organization.
Experience working with large Batch files and highly normalized OLTP systems as sources systems.
Technical expertise in enterprise-class data warehouse solutions and services, including advanced skills in areas such as:
Data warehousing methodologies and modelling techniques (Kimball, 3NF, Star Schema, Dimension modeling, Data Marts, Operational Data Stores, Data Vault 2.0 a plus)
Demonstrated skills with Matillion, WhereScape RED / 3D / Data Vault Express automation tools for SQL Server or Snowflake target destinations.
Ability to design and implement a fully operational solution on Snowflake Data Warehouse (see details in Experience section below).
Great presentation and communication skills, both written and verbally
Ability to problem solve and able to convert the requirements to data architecture design
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple concurrent projects effectively
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
