Purpose and Objective: Ariba, Inc. seeks a Senior Developer for our Palo Alto, CA office location to work in core components for the Ariba cloud that includes application, persistence, meta-data, object model framework, common data server, customization and UI frameworks.


Expectations and Tasks: Develop cloud integration scenarios for processes and data integration across multiple domains. Master the art of the framework design and modeling in a large-scale multi-tenant on-demand environment. Possess the ability to deliver creative solutions of new processes, as well as effectively identify, analyze and resolve highly complex real production issues. Responsible for analysis of current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs. Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic working environment, lead project design and procession to complete deliverables on time. Collaborate with support/engineering leaders to roll out new processes using continuous global engineering Scrums. Plan and conduct customer workshops, design and build enhancements/extensions, create plans for Integration and Unit testing. Develop and review architecture plans and develop coding and integration standards. Maintain existing applications, review and repair legacy code for sustaining on current production code with an eye to improve and grow through new and emerging technologies. Take responsibility to mentor junior developers and share experiences with peers through knowledge management activities. 10% travel required.


Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 6 years of experience, or alternatively, a Master's degree and 4 years of experience.


Work Experience: Experience must include 4 years of experience in the following: Java multi-thread programming and code reviewing complex code bases written; security challenges in deploying cloud and hybrid cloud applications; enterprise cloud services integration scenarios; development and performance tuning experience with PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle, or other database technologies; delivering high-quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment; hadoop/lucene to implement Internet search engines; identifying, tuning and improving performance issues; networking technologies from the programmers prospective; Linux operation system; ILOG CPLEX optimizer; linear, mixed integer programming, quadratic programming, and quadratically constrained programming; design patterns; and OLAP. 10% travel required.
