Senior Director, Foundry Technology Partnerships

As an integral part of
Intel's new IDM2.0 strategy, we are establishing Intel Foundry
Services (IFS), a fully vertical, standalone foundry business,
reporting directly to the CEO. IFS will be a world-class foundry
business and major provider of US and European-based capacity to
serve customers globally. Intel Foundry Services will be
differentiated from other Foundry offerings with a combination of
leading-edge packaging and process technology, committed capacity
in the US and Europe - available for customers globally - and a
world-class IP portfolio that customers can chose from including
x86 cores, graphics, media, display, AI, interconnect, fabric and
other critical foundational IP, along with ARM and RISC-V ecosystem
IPs. IFS will also provide access to silicon design services to
help our customers seamlessly turn silicon into solutions, using
industry standard design packages. This business unit is completely
dedicated to the success of its customers with full P and L
responsibilities. This model will ensure that our foundry
customers' products will receive our utmost focus in terms of
service, technology enablement and capacity commitments. IFS is
already engaged with customers today starting with our existing
foundry offerings and we are expanding imminently to include our
most advanced technologies, which are optimized for cutting-edge
performance, making them ideal for high-performance
applications.
About the
Role
This team will be responsible for post-deal
partnership management to ensure progress towards agreed technical
and business milestones and deliver the stated objectives of the
partnership. These partnership deals will be focused on strategic
gaps in IFS's technology, design, manufacturing, and supply roadmap
to establish IFS as a competitive leading end-to-end foundry in the
industry. They will also be focused on market disruptions in the
broader semiconductor industry and setting up IFS as the preferred
solutions provider in these markets through establishing relevant
partnerships.
Intel Foundry Services is looking
for an aspiring and motivated business leader who has big deals
experience, detailed semiconductor manufacturing knowledge and has
interfaced at the executive level both within the company and while
negotiating with external partners. The Foundry Technology
Partnerships role requires experience in big deal assessment,
negotiations and deal closure, along with execution of technology
integration plans. Heavy domain experience in semiconductor
manufacturing technology, semiconductor equipment, IP licensing,
and technology porting processes is required for this role. Ability
to assess and optimize manufacturing costs in new and existing
technologies is also required. Establishment of a crisp and cross
functional strategy for the integration of different semiconductor
manufacturing technologies across the platform roadmap will be
essential. Progressive and dynamic leadership experience, in a high
growth and fast paced
organization.
Responsibilities:
- Working in alignment with senior leadership and business development teams, define strategic requirements and addressable markets for partnership scouting opportunities which have operational fit with IDM 2.0 strategy
- Develop partnership deal concept and strategy for the integration of different semiconductor manufacturing technologies across the platform roadmaps
- Conducting growth opportunity analyses, formulation of recommended approach, and defining schedule and deal closure targets
- Identify should cost models in new technologies as well as capex requirements to support market opportunities
- Providing guidance on strategic deal terms across manufacturing partnerships, equipment and IP rights while determining growth partnership timeline and desired deal closure outcome
- Work across all organizations to facilitate deal closure such as finance, legal, operations and Executive Staff
- Execution and management of post deal closure partnership
Experience Required:
- Experience working directly with or for semiconductor manufacturing equipment vendors s or in a partnership position with semiconductor manufacturing companies in technology evaluation, technology porting and integration
- Experience in process integration/engineering and customer-supplier management in ASIC houses, fabless, OEM, Silicon Foundry or OSATs
- Experience communicating to champion initiatives internally and externally, including compilation of clear and concise briefing materials, for effective communication with executive management and external partners
- Possess distinctive problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment
- Demonstrated influence stakeholders and business partners at all levels without organizational authority
- Proven leadership capabilities in a multi-cultural and cross-functional team environment
- Demonstrated ability to listen to ideas of others and synthesize win/win pragmatic solutions
Qualifications
BS with 12+ years of relevant experience.
