Job Description

The Ethernet Products Group (EPG) Silicon Engineering organization is responsible for delivering leadership Ethernet solutions for Intel's Network and Edge Group (NEX). EPG's product portfolio consists of Ethernet IP, Foundational NICs, and Smart NIC (IPU) SOCs that address a broad set of customer requirements for Cloud Service Providers, Communications Service Providers, Enterprise data centers, and the Internet of Things. These products and technologies provide compelling industry differentiation and are responsible for enabling double-digit percentage revenue growth for NEX. The SiE Director of Silicon Engineering Execution is responsible for leading world-class execution of the future Si portfolio of technologies and products to support our industry-leading vision in partnership with EPG, partner organizations and EPG SiE functional teams. This position is for a leader/manager who will manage the program leaders of Mission Control execution functions to deliver world-class Si and provide leadership direction to all portfolio-critical decisions to optimize the delivery and investment into the broad portfolio of programs from early execution to launch.

Ethernet Products Group (EPG) Silicon Engineering group (SIE) is seeking a Si development expert with high cross-team coordination capabilities to drive Si program developments, including product incubation work, producing best-in-world products and execution. This leader will be responsible for a small team of leaders who are responsible for program execution. The role requires a leader that has technical and business acumen to deliver an executable and differentiated Si and IP products. The person will be reporting frequently to exec management, so is required to have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team, including personal leadership as required, responsible for the execution of Si products.

  • Develop Si Engineering competitive analysis capabilities to complement and drive world-class execution initiatives.

  • Be the central point-of-contact for SiE executive staff for all program operations, efficiencies, and capabilities, working closely with leadership teams across SiE.

  • Set and drive the organization's execution metrics and improvement initiatives.

  • Cultivate and reinforce appropriate group values, norms and behaviors.

  • Identify and analyze problems, plans, and proposed solutions from product engineering managers.

  • Use judgement on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices,

  • Manage strategic objectives and maintains priorities.

  • Ensure tools and methods are applied consistently across the organization to optimize the effectiveness of the operation.

  • Chair and drive SiE execution reviews, SiE cross-program escalations, and PLC gate reviews.

  • Oversee silicon PLC process (Inception through Production Release).


Qualifications

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following skills and behavioral traits:

  • Strong interpersonal leadership management skills, providing guidance and mentoring to independent program leaders.

  • Has advanced understanding of the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with IP and SOC development, and Ethernet technologies. This includes understanding of silicon, firmware and software development methods.

  • Strong stakeholder management with experience influencing individuals, organizations, technologies and industry with proven leadership and ability to work collaboratively across teams, organizations, and management levels.

  • Extremely good in building relationships and running cross functional forums that drive collective progress.

  • Effective communication to influence senior technical and business leaders.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to build respect and influence across a diverse cross-organizational team without having solid-line management authority.

  • Desire to learn/lead through ambiguity. Self-motivated and self-directed leadership.

Functions well in a multi-tasked environment.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with strong technical background.

  • 10+ year of overall semiconductor industry experience.

  • 2+ years in Silicon Product Management, Strategic Planning, or Architecture.

  • Comfortable working across geos and in tight timelines to deliver executive consumable content.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
