The Senior Director for Strategic Product Development ESI is the chief product development owner for ADP's International strategic integrated HR and Payroll products across the 3 regions outside of North American (EMEA, APAC and LATAM), referred to as ESI.

The role reports to the SVP Product Development ESI and is responsible for leading the continued software development of the current strategic platform, known as iHCM and the establishment of the next gen platform from the US known as Lifion and Pi.

The role will lead the existing teams of software development in EMEA and India who are responsible for the continued development of iHCM with the market requirements and user stories developed by the Product Management team responsible for this product.

The role is also responsible for the creation of a new group who need to work closely with the iHCM team to establish the introduction and internationalization of the Lifion/Pi platforms. This 'federated' group will initially be based in Bristol, UK, but will involve the potential to establish other centres around the world, to support the longer term globalisation of these systems.

The initial small, but high performing team in UK will need to work closely with the US teams who will own the overall governance and platform aspects of these systems. In addition the team will need to work with the existing groups in India and the subject matter experts in the various countries within the ESI business. A vital aspect of the role is the ability to work with Business Unit leadership, Sales and Service Leaders, Product Managers, SMEs across the business to ensure the new products are successfully introduced and established in a way that is clearly understood and supported across the business, that is complimentary to the existing product portfolio and the vision/strategy that is set by the ESI and GPT executives.


  • Drives the overall product release delivery of iHCM in line with and in conjunction with the roadmaps and requirements defined and agreed with Product Management.
  • Ensure the product quality, innovation and performance continue to enhance and support the growth plans and projections as well as the retention and customer satisfaction measures for the ESI businesses.
  • Seek ways to further enhance our agile working methods, to drive more pace into our execution and quality of delivery.
  • Improve our deployment methods, working on Dev-ops and our infrastructure engineers.
  • Oversee changes in iHCM to better enable public cloud use.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership skills in forming new teams and connecting them to existing US teams and India resources to establish the introduction of Pi/Lifion internationally.
  • Work with ESI leadership and GPT leadership to ensure the approach and ordering of country enablement is planned, agreed and executed successfully.
  • Show appreciation and solution orientated focus to the challenges of new product introductions,
  • working cross functionally to ensure other functional groups understand and respond to the needs of their team to be operationally ready in line with the development timelines and plans.


  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent in education and experience.
  • MBA and/or advanced Technical Degree preferred.


  • 8+ years of experience in a market-facing software and enterprise solutions product role.
  • Experience working with agile methodology strongly preferred.
  • Significant knowledge of HCM/Payroll software required.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership will be a huge asset; authored articles, speaking and/or moderating experience at industry trade conferences desirable.
  • People management experience required.
  • Demonstrated track record of new product introductions and new team formations

  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders without having a formal reporting relationship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required, including representing ADP externally to our clients, analysts and the market.
  • Ability to conceptualize, negotiate and sell ideas internally and externally.
  • Creative yet analytical - uses data to support and drive recommendations.
  • Ability to implement concepts, ideas and plans while functioning in a flexible, constantly changing environment necessary.
