Job role:

In this role, you’ll become a core part of Quidco’s engineering team. Working closely with our Development and Product teams you will be responsible for creating and designing innovative solutions for our customers.

As a Senior Member of the engineering team, you will also be working to help the wider team learn best practices, modern software development architecture, and design patterns.

Our platform employs a modern approach to our engineering, microservices running on Docker and Kubernetes provide much of the core and is based on a DevOps approach to working.  


Key responsibilities:


  • Responsible for delivering high-quality code to our customers on-time.

  • Ensure the wider team is brought forward and empowered with new skills and techniques. 

  • Design and implement solutions that solve problems efficiently.

  • Maintain a good awareness of new engineering solutions available and disseminate to the wider team.

  • Build effective monitoring systems into our products and take ownership of the product you develop.




About you:

We are looking for someone with a passion for creating a great technical environment who is self-driven with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high-quality delivery. You must be comfortable working in a team that deals with a rapidly changing workload.




  • Approximately five years of industry experience

  • BS or MSc in Computer Science, a related subject or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience of working with a high traffic website and the technologies that support this

  • Strong knowledge of PHP, Javascript, HTML, and CSS

  • In-depth experience with a PHP framework, Symfony and Laravel is ideal

  • Experience developing RESTFul APIs

  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design Patterns

  • Strong understanding of the SOLID OOP principles

  • Experience of using related technologies in production, these may include MySQL Elastic, Memcache, Redis, RabbitMQ

  • Security best practices and designs.


Desirable skills:


  • Quidco employs various agile methodologies, familiarity with these methods of working is ideal.

  • Understanding of the impact of SEO on-site design.

  • Knowledge of data privacy issues and how GDPR affects development.
