PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

This position will be responsible for The Marketing Communications Strategy for SAP Ariba priority events. The qualified candidate will ensure the right communication and marketing strategy to drive event attendance and associated event performance goals. This includes creating the overall audience acquisition strategy and executing an integrated plan of MarCom, social media, digital and internal enablement activities to ensure the right messaging and overall MarCom strategy is in place for these events. The person will be responsible for GDPR knowledge and making recommendations to the broader events team in alignment with marketing operations.

 

The successful candidate will be asked to focus on both the business side of events, and the operational side while being a “day-to-day” project manager, collaborating with team members and processes in the execution of tactics, and activities.

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

 

  • Develop the overall MarCom strategy for SAP Ariba Marketing priority events focusing on activities to ensure the right messaging and communication is place for each event. Work jointly with program leads and field marketing, and other stakeholders on the implementation of this strategy.
  • Ensure the right messages are communicated towards the right audiences and work closely with the Content Strategy Lead (where applicable) on ongoing alignment of all promotional activities with the content priorities of the event
  • Work with the Social Media and digital leads to develop and implement an integrated MarCom and Social media strategy that ensures awareness for SAP’s Ariba’s Marketing events with all key audiences. This includes definition of audiences, channels and tactics.
  • Deliver all pre and post event communications required for events including email communications, online communications, event deliverables and mobile application content
  • Develop enablement tool kits for our field sales, field marketing and partner teams to ensure they have the right support to execute for our key events
  • Ongoing campaign execution with third party agencies and internal service organizations to ensure flawless execution for all campaign activities and deliverables
  • Ensure the ongoing promotion of available online content from SAP’s Ariba’s signature events in key online channels and social media
  • Works with a cross functional team and is responsible for aligning functions from Sales enablement, pre-sales, operations, infrastructure, marketing, global events, regional events and technology.
  • Drives team behavior through cadence driven business practices.
  • Project manage assigned workstream for events end-to-end from objectives, timelines and processes to successful execution and analysis
  • Assist in weekly communications reporting to MLT
  • Take on broader project management tasks for event-related projects as necessary

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 7-10 years of marketing experience, preferably with a strong background in communications with direct sales engagement
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience in integrated campaign planning and campaign messaging development
  • Solid understanding of SAP Ariba marketing strategy and knowledge of key audience profiles
  • Exposure to social media and understanding of pull marketing
  • Understanding of the role of events in the mix of marketing channels
  • Strong decision making skills at the project / functional level with the flexibility to adjust to frequent changes
  • Customer Focus - Have a strong customer/user-focused mindset
  • Self-motivation and a proactive approach
  • Ability to cope with stress and tight deadlines;
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and should be willing to travel
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
