The incumbent will support the integration, test, and evaluation of communications systems, including data link and SATCOM radio systems, onto Naval Aviation platforms. This support includes analysis of alternatives, design reviews, performance estimation, source selection, link budget analysis, and IP network integration.   The incumbent will work within a broader team of engineers within government and MITRE, and may be expected to brief analyses, findings, and recommendations to all levels of government.  

Key Functions:

  • Requirements development, analysis & traceability, requirements management
  • Analysis of alternatives, design review, and performance estimation
  • Modeling and Simulation of communications systems design, link budget and waveform analysis of RF links, and IP network integration planning
  • Write technical reports and/or present briefings of analysis, findings, and recommendations to Government

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS and 3 years related experience
  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in communications engineering (i.e. System design, link budget and waveform analysis, and overall performance estimation of either line of sight data links or satellite communications systems)
  • Demonstrated experience in performing analytical work
  • Proficient with MATLAB
  • IP Networking integration
  • Knowledge of software defined radios
  • Secret level security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Good communication skills and able to present highly technical material to a diverse audience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisitions
  • Satellite Tool Kit (STK)
  • Top Secret/SCI
