We are on an exciting journey to create and contribute to industry standard benchmarks by designing workloads that represent the future of computing. As a member of a talented group within Intel, you will work with industry benchmarking consortiums and benchmark vendors to make sure workloads are representative of current and future-looking usage models.
In this unique
team and role, you will work with cross-functional teams including
processor architecture, software engineering and product marketing
to set competitive performance targets, to optimize performance,
and to demonstrate product advantages. You will identify relevant
workloads to add to the benchmarks and optimize them for best
performance. You will share your results with an eminent team of
experienced workload experts within Intel and drive changes to the
workloads.
Your responsibilities
include but not limited
to:
Analyzing benchmark or software code that runs on Intel and its competitive architectures.
Rewriting and optimizing the code to make the best use of Intel architecture features.
Compiling software using various compilers (GCC, LLVM, ICC, etc.) and compiler flags provided by those compilers.
Understanding why the SW performs as it is doing on Intel and its competitive architectures.
Design experiments to characterize software workloads and find optimization opportunities.
If needed, use available AI/ML based tools and methodologies to improve performance.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in
Computer Science with 6+ years of experience in the
following:
Experience with performance improvement implemented in a strategically important area (e.g. compression, media, big data, AI/ML CAD/CAM, HPC. Cloud).
Experience of development in C/C++ and ASM for Intel (and/or other architectures).
CPU microarchitecture and experience using performance analysis tools as well as cycle accurate simulators.
Knowledge of Compilers and Compiler options.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Math (or adjacent fields) with 5+ years of experience.
PHD degree in Computer Science, Applied Math (or adjacent fields) with 4+ years of experience.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
