This is your opportunity to join the Missile Defense Radar Software Team in Woburn, Massachusetts as a Section Leader. The Missile Defense Radar Software Department mission is to provide world class Radar Software for our customer's wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. The Missile Defense Radar Software Department Section Leader will reside in the Missile Defense Center (MDC) in Woburn, MA, and will provide guidance, leadership and management to a section of 15 to 20 Engineers. The candidate will act as a key leader and mentor in the department, employing their leadership, presence and influence skills, and fostering team work and interdependent execution.

The Section Leader will participate in employee goal setting and career development, performance reviews, department rating sessions, interviewing new candidates, and provide recommendations for staff promotions. The successful candidate will participate in a technical/lead role on our software development programs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret or above security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance.

Required Skills:

10 + years experience in technical software design and development on defense software development programs
Experience in software development using C, C++, or Ada
US Citizenship is required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math or related engineering/science discipline

Desired Skills:

Prior experience in functional, team or program leadership role
High energy, self-starting team player who achieves goals and continuous improvement
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with subordinates, customers, and other Raytheon organizations
Radar domain knowledge
Experience employing Lean, Agile and DevSecOps methodologies
Software Cost estimation experience
