Job Summary:

Our Digital Technology (DT) organization ensures that RMD teammates across the globe are able to communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support the RMD DT infrastructures around the world.

The Senior Principal Architect will work as a key member of the Analytic and Application Digital Architecture team, under the Strategy & Architecture directorate.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Promotes continual collaboration and planning between the enterprise, business, functional and mission area strategic planning stakeholders.
  • Leads the development of comprehensive environmental scans, strategic themes, capability roadmaps, long-range plans, annual operating plans and business value realization plans.
  • Continually prioritizes inputs to ensure an organizational focus on strategic differentiators and imperatives that drive the highest levels of business value and future competitiveness.
  • Continually evaluates and expands their professional network to ensure the right mix of senior leaders, technical experts and end-users to validate planning, analytics, product implementation and key performance indicators across the business level value streams.
  • Supports the effective decomposition of the strategy to align teams around a full suite of capability development requirements, including emerging technology evaluations, prototypes, industry software and standard capability development.
  • Researches and maintains a high level of competency with industry trending and technologies to align strategic themes and capability roadmaps to ensure competitive business and organizational positioning in our current and future markets.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM); OR minimum of 16 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a combination of information systems, strategic planning, portfolio management, product management, organizational change management and relationship management
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a combination of mission area and functional operations
  • Previous experience on Digital Technology capability development processes, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, testing methodologies and deployment
  • Experience with developing and managing long-range and annual operating plan inputs in support of strategic capability investments (Capital, Expense, IRAD, NBI investment planning)
  • Previous experience on systems level view of the business to ensure consistent business alignment, capability roadmaps and value delivery across the disciplines
  • Experience with portfolio management systems and maintaining oversight for a series capability development efforts to ensure consistent execution
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present and rationalize technical information at multiple levels of the business (including the executive level)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of business partner trust and confidence
  • Strong teamwork, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Current Secret level security clearance
  • Familiarity with RMD, Business, Digital Technology and Enterprise Services operating frameworks
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) concepts and principles and lean/agile portfolio management tools
