In this position, you will be working as part of a pre-silicon firmware verification team for current and next generation Client SOC Products.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Creating test environments, checker strategies, and test generators for validating embedded power management firmware in the SOC.

  • Learning the FW architecture and related SOC architecture by debugging test failures to the root cause.

  • Developing and utilizing various software tools and/or methodologies with the goal to ensure highly functional firmware.

  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves subsystem and/or SoC design weaknesses.

  • Influences the shaping of future products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across design families.

  • Provides multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.


  • Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 1+ years of experience.

Your experience should be in the following areas:

  • Experience with Firmware/Embedded Firmware or hardware development or verification.

  • 1+ year experience with reading and interpreting technical specs, Firmware, and Register Transfer Level (RTL) code.

  • 1 year experience with UNIX or Linux.

  • Software development skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of Computer Architecture.

  • 1+ years' experience with writing validation plans and/or software to implement those validation plans.

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Ruby programming.

  • Advanced SW development skills (Unit Testing, Test Driven Development).

  • 6mths+ experience working on SOC projects in Validation or Tools domains.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
