Intel's Server Firmware Architecture, Design and Validation team is looking for a Firmware Architecture and Design Engineer to join our team.

In this position you will be the technical leader of a team of other engineers with various experience levels, and additionally you will perform the following technical contributions:

• Specifies and implements CPU power, performance, and thermal management algorithms, as well as other CPU control and management functions.

• Architects and designs embedded firmware solutions on micro-controllers that work within system-level design constraints.

• Defines interfaces between hardware, firmware, and software; analyzes existing algorithms and implementations for defects and weaknesses and proposes changes to improve function and performance.

• Uses knowledge and experience to influence architecture and design for future products.

Qualifications

You must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related field with 7+ years of relevant experience.

OR

Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience.

Your experience should be one or more of the following areas:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Microprocessor development

• IA-32 architecture/micro-architecture, microprocessors, and computer system architecture

• Low-level software or firmware programming skills  

• Programming languages: Ruby, Perl, Python, C/C++

• Hardware/Software interfaces, interactions, and debug

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred skills that will make you stand out: 

• Validation and/or testing, especially in processor design teams 

• Pre-Silicon or Post-Silicon debug experience

• UNIX command-line tools

• Platform architecture and operating system knowledge

• CPU power management
