A Product Integration Engineer in Silicon Photonics Technology Development will act as a key technical leader and the primary fab contact for integrating one or more products from Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division (SPPD) roadmap into F11x's fabrication process.

You will be responsible for driving and managing cost reduction projects, yield optimization efforts, New Product Introduction (NPI) roadmaps, tool qualification/capability milestones, process development, and wafer-level-test/wafer-level-burn-in capacity/capability to deliver all product qualification milestones throughout all phases of the product life cycle (PLC).

You will be highly engaged in cross-functional teams to solve technical problems and deliver product milestones; interfacing between SPPD (integration / design / layout teams), F11x process engineering, finance, planning, wafer-level test, quality and reliability (QnR), global supply management (GSM), and Outsourced Semiconductor Assemble and Test (OSAT) teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Technical direction to design and layout development teams, working with F11x process integration and engineering to develop and/or optimize process manufacturability, driving solutions for key process or reliability roadblocks

  • Delivering on-time products and processes that meet all performance and reliability specifications

  • Developing and executing product cost and yield roadmaps

  • Training production/receiving engineers for transfer to high volume manufacturing

  • Directing longer range plans for future product/process/test capabilities to deliver next-gen Silicon Photonics products

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate key technical and program-level updates, help-needed, and direction changes. Must be especially skilled in influencing with data

  • Established technical leadership skills, driving technical problem solving across cross-functional teams

  • Have good time management skills, self-motivated, and have strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • Learn quickly, resourceful and have strong problem-solving skills


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, and/or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Must possess a Master/ Ph.D. in an Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Materials, etc.) and/or Science discipline such as Physics, Optics/Photonics, and the following skills/experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Fundamental understanding of semiconductor and/or SiP process flow.
  • 2+ years of experience in program/product management and fundamental understanding of product life cycles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in any of the following: Optics, Photonics, SiP, Lasers, or III/V compound.
  • 2+ years of experience in advanced data analysis and statistical process control, demonstrating expert level experience with JMP, GAJT and SQL.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: fab processing techniques, sort/device testing, material/device/electrical characterization and failure analysis (FA), process-property interactions with Yield/Reliability/Defects/Assembly/Packaging.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
