As a Physical Design Engineer with AADG, you'll be part of a dynamic and agile team driving physical implementation of next generation CPU cores. You will work closely with architects and micro-architects to work on all aspects of design convergence from RTL to GDS.

In this role you will:

  • Own all aspects of the RTL-to-GDS flow, including synthesis, floorplanning, and implementation, and signoff for partition, sub-chip, or full-chip blocks on advanced process technologies

  • Use your knowledge of industry standard tools, and custom scripting to reliably deliver to aggressive timing, power, and area goals

  • Work with architects and micro-architects to provide feasibility and cost analysis of new features

  • Drive changes to RTL to facilitate design convergence

  • Contribute to innovative tools, flows, and methods to improve the results and efficiency of the team

  • Plan and coordinate your work to deliver results in a timely manner

Bachelors Degree with 4+ years experience OR a Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, with 3+ years relevant physical design experience.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced team-focused environment

  • Proven experience with industry standard synthesis, place and route, and verification solutions

  • Success converging large and high-frequency designs for tape-out on advanced process nodes

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL or Python

  • Depth of understanding in one or more of: Synthesis, Floorplanning, Clock Tree design, Routing, Power delivery, Static Timing Analysis, Formal Equivalence Verification, Power Analysis, Design for Test

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
