Job Description

Join the Quality and Reliability Test Chips (QRTC) design team, which is part of Intel's Corporate Quality Network (CQN). You will synergize with partners in Technology Development (TD), Design Enablement (DE), and a world class team of Quality and Reliability (QnR) engineers to understand, define, and execute new trailblazing Test Chips.

As the SoC Design Engineer you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Custom circuit design, layout design, and verification of components targeted to support development of process technologies.
  • Understanding mechanisms that limit reliability of Intel's products.
  • Creating bottoms up elements of chip design including block level custom layouts, floor plans, abstract view generation, RC extraction, layout vs schematic (LVS) verification, and design rule check (DRC) verification.
  • Troubleshooting a wide variety up to and including difficult design issues and applied proactive intervention.
  • Building extensive knowledge of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, flows, and methodologies.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, or a related field of study.
  • 3+ months of relevant experience in CMOS VLSI circuit design, physical design, and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools also known as Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.

Preferred qualifications:

6+ months of experience in:
 

  • Integrated Circuit (IC) design, simulation, fabrication, and silicon debug.
  • Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Programming/scripting in C/C++, Python, TcL, SKILL.
  • Unix/Linux operating systems.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
