Apple is seeking a highly motivated, energetic digital audio HW engineer to take a key role in the design and implementation of the next generation of audio SoC processors.
Key Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of digital audio engineering experience. The following experiences would be advantageous:
- Audio over Wireless, both Bluetooth & WiFi
- SoC design for absolute minimum power consumption
- Signal processor design for guaranteed on-time signal delivery
- Low latency audio processing
Description
As a member of the audio processor team, the ideal candidate will contribute to many areas of real-time audio processing including algorithms and hardware. You will be happy to work across the usual boundaries, at the junction of hardware and software and are concerned with the trade-offs between hardware and software solutions and between general purpose processors and custom signal processors. This is very much a digital audio hands-on design and engineering role where you can make a difference to the future of real time audio processing at Apple! Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the complete engineering chain, from user needs discovery through algorithm development to the design and debugging of audio signal processing hardware.
- Ability to design, implement, and debug complex, low-power audio signal processing hardware, both fixed function and programmable processors.
- Understanding of the hardware processor design elements that affect the ability of compiler code generation to be optimized for low energy execution.
- Audio signal processor design for the most advanced silicon geometries, with special regard to both static and dynamic power consumption.
- Modification and augmentation of general purpose processor instruction sets for special purpose signal processing.
- Blank sheet design and implementation of custom audio processors.
Education & Experience
EE/CS MASTERS OR PhD
