The Intel Optane Group is
looking for an SOC Performance Architect to join their team. This
team works hand in hand with our design, validation, and
architecture teams to deliver best-in-class performance, power and
innovations across the Optane portfolio. The ideal candidate will
have experience in computer architecture, performance analysis,
power analysis and software engineering. As a Performance
Architect, you will help define and drive critical performance and
performance/watt features for industry and customer leadership at
both the architectural and micro-architectural
levels.
Your responsibilities will include, but
are not limited to:
- SOC performance and performance/watt modeling, studies, analysis
- Conducting forward looking research and development for next generation Optane products
- Understanding usage models and develop key performance and performance/watt indicators
- Defining, planning, and scoping the performance modeling, studies, and analysis work with predictable well-communicated execution timelines
- Identifying, mapping architectural and micro-architectural features to their power and performance impacts
- Sets requirements for and works to continuously improve power and performance modeling infrastructure

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum
Qualifications:
The
candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related
field.
8+ years of experience in the following areas:
- High speed ASIC design, System Verilog
- Simulation-based performance modeling
- Multiple clock domain designs, clock crossing structures
- Performance analysis
- Computer architecture
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Power Artist, PTPX, and Blizzard power and performance tools
- ASIC experience, with several completed ASIC projects through tape-out
- Low-power design, coarse/fine grain clock gating
- ASIC validation methodology, verilog testbenches, random event driven verification
- Static timing closure, understanding of DC timing reports
- Simulation/debug tools: VCS, DVE, Verdi
- Unix shell and Perl scripting
- Solid state memory controller designs
- DDR memory controller designs
