The Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group (AXG) is a newly formed group to increase focus and accelerate execution in strategic growth areas of high-performance computing and graphics for Intel. Within AXG, the Custom Compute (XCC) organization is chartered with building custom SOC silicon and packages to deliver unique solutions for customer needs.  We are looking for an experienced SoC / Subsystem lead Design Engineer with strong technical and great collaboration skills to join our team.

As a design lead, you will play a leadership role in overall definition, design, implementation, verification, and documentation for a SoC(System on a Chip)  / Sub-system development. You will plan and execute logic design of large sub-systems consisting of Graphics IP, High Performance NoC, PCIe, DRAM Memory Controller, MIPI and Security etc.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall Design execution planning in alignment with the project plans
  • Micro architecture and documentation for SoC / Sub-system development
  • Logic design and Pre-Silicon Simulation
  • Integrate IP units into Sub-systems and Sub-systems into SoC full chip designs
  • Responsible participate in synthesis and timing closure of the blocks
  • Oversees the design quality check runs
  • Lead a team of design engineers and work closely with the system architects, other micro-architects, and verification engineers to ensure that the design is implemented to specification
  • Work with the Post Silicon Validation engineers with silicon bring up and debug
  • Work with the Software team in defining the flow and the architecture

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum skills and experience:

Must have must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field and 7+ years of industry experience. Or a Maters in the same field  with 5+ years of industry experience. OR a PhD in the same area with 3+ years of industry experience.

Your experience must be in the following:

  • Leading Design team
  • Experience with leading complex subsystem or SOC level integration
  • Design experience with SOC globals like clocking, reset, boot, power management flows, etc.
  • Working with the Validation / Verification teams
  • Microarchitecture and logic design
  • Multiple tape-out and Silicon bring-up experience.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Proficient with tools such as VCS, Verdi, Spyglass and power-aware RTL.
  • Proficient with Synthesis and Static Timing Analysis.
  • Experience with Lint, CDC, formal equivalence checking.
  • Proficient in scripting languages like Perl/Tcl/Python.
  • Demonstrated experience to resolve design and flow issues related to physical design using automation.
