The social media associate will work closely with the social media manager to create engaging content for clients’ social media presence, including keeping social media channels updated daily and with information that is brand-focused. The social media associate will seek out new social media avenues and ways of connecting with audiences. Will also be responsible for tracking results and completing analytics of recommended programs and specific social campaigns. This position will be responsible for understanding and utilizing clients’ voice and have a very strong attention to detail and organization skills. A strong candidate is someone eager to handle the day-to-day real-time responsibilities of social media management and engagement while understanding the nature of this fast-paced news cycle. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages agency and clients’ social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms
  • Engages in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms
  • Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content
  • Monitors trending topics and hashtags to insert clients organically and strategically into conversations
  • Optimizes content following search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC)
  • Creates content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation
  • Assists social media management with large projects, events, and community management
  • Works as part of a team to develop large social media campaigns
  • Analyses and reports audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects
  • Proposes new ideas and concepts for social media content
  • Works with marketing, public relations and social media team members to coordinate campaigns with social media strategy
  • Writes and distributes e-newsletters to subscribers
  • Manages social media communications
  • Uses timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analyzing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimize visits
  • Analytical review and monthly report preparation measuring the effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  • Recommend applications and/or tools within the social media discipline to ensure that the agency is evolving and current
  • Experiment and come up with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of social media experience at a marketing/advertising agency
  • MUST be fully bilingual in both oral and written English and Spanish
  • Capable of managing a large workload, producing quality work, and meeting deliverables
  • Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) and how to effectively use in different situations in a multicultural culture
  • Strong writing and communications skills. Ability to create content that is engaging and inspires action. Should have a portfolio of work. Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Ability to effectively receive and communicate feedback
  • Results-oriented and process driven, with high expectations of self and team
  • Have good knowledge of principles of SEO and SEM. Basic CSS, HTML and CMS skills is a plus
  • Demonstrate an extensive social media presence, be well connected with the broader social media world, and be an active participant in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, social bookmarking, and commenting
  • Have strong project management, leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Demonstrate technical understanding and the ability to pick up new tools quickly
  • Demonstrate the ability to network and build relationships
