What is the Social Media Strategist responsible for? 

As a member of the Global Digital Marketing team, the Social Media Strategist will help shape and manage Franklin Templeton’s social media strategy at a global scale. This individual will be responsible for driving and managing the firm’s social presence across all social channels, including both organic and paid.  In support of both B2B and B2C initiatives, s/he will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the firm to develop content that is tailored for regional audiences while also executing global content relevant to all markets. You must be a detail-oriented, team player who has excellent communication and relationship-building skills. 

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Social Media Strategist?

  • Manage and help evolve penetration and engagement strategies for all of Franklin Templeton’s public social channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok.

  • Partner with senior leaders from Sales, Marketing, Communications and Portfolio Management teams on all logistical aspects of managing the firm’s growing and dynamic social persona.

  • Write/edit copy, create imagery, and repurpose company content, optimizing for best reach and engagement on social media channels to support Franklin Templeton’s distribution initiatives and reinforce company’s brand.

  • Manage content/campaign social calendar.

  • Create metrics reports and derive insights from social media analytics that inform future strategies.

  • Provide support to firm’s social media employee advocacy program.

  • Ensure that all social media activity conforms to compliance and regulatory guidelines. 

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2+ years developing social strategy and managing social media and brand in a corporate environment

  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms and the evolving social media landscape

  • Excellent writing skills for social and web

  • Intermediate to advanced image editing skills

  • Ability to execute paid, targeted social campaigns

  • Ability to work independently; participates in determining objectives of assignment; plans, schedules, and arranges own and team’s activities in accomplishing objectives

  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to show a portfolio of client work

  • Financial services marketing experience preferred but not necessary.
