We're seeking a Software Validation
Engineer to join our team working in partnership with some of the
world's largest Cloud Service Providers (CSP) to deliver
state-of-the-art cluster platform solutions. In this role you will
engage and collaborate with Intel's Cloud Customers advocating,
enabling and scaling out optimized software solutions based on
Intel technologies to demonstrate Intel's architectures advantage,
enabling CSPs to launch
faster.
The person hired will design, develop, validate, and debug full stack feature solutions to enable Intel hardware features and to optimize for cloud usage. Understands partner software stacks and optimizes full stack feature implementation (spanning firmware, drivers, OS, middleware, SDKs, frameworks, algorithms, and applications) as required to enable the feature fully in the CSP fleet. May include the development of reference cloud platform software and improving or enabling customer designs to obtain the greatest value from Intel products within the cloud. May specialize in specific technology domains including data services (ingestion, database, analytics), AI/ML, and opensource development projects.
In
this position you will gain invaluable experience into the internal
workings of servers and how servers at scale are managed. The ideal
candidate will have a strong, self-directed work ethic and a can-do
attitude.
Your responsibilities might include, but are not limited to:
Developing innovative full stack feature solutions based on the latest Intel technologies and Validate the feature on the customer platform
Drive
end-to-end workload optimization for customers' critical workloads
and usage cases to accelerate design wins.
Conduct
pathfinding for new workloads on Intel technologies to generate
software optimization proposals and prove value
proposition.
Transform customer requirements to
architecture inputs and use cases for product definition influence
engineering roadmaps and PXT execution.
Develop technical
documentation as
required.
Support
Customer Issues with debug on the stack as
required

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a positive factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed may be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
Education
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer
Science, Software Engineering, or related
field.
Minimum
of 2+ years of experience in:
Systems validation
and/or experience in Post-silicon Platform Validation, inclusive of
debug experience on Intel Architecture and/or Server Platform
experience.
FW/SW development or validation experience;
understanding of software stack from BIOS/FW through OS
driver.
Designing, building, and/or operating security
solutions in enterprise or service provider cloud
environments
Chipset/processor interfaces (PCI Express,
UPI, Memory, etc.) and Server technologies in any two domains
(Security, Manageability, Virtualization, Power Management,
Reset/Boot, Storage, Networking, RAS, etc.) and can interpret
specifications to assist with debug and/or test development.
C, C++, Python and/or bash scripting.
Linux or Windows test/development environment.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience
with system power/reset/boot flows, and firmware (BIOS, BMC and
CPLD, etc.) interactions during the process with analytical problem
solving, code debugging and module-based
problem-solving.
Experience
with Security Architectures like SGX or equivalent
Experience with customization solution, e.g., Redis or
RocksDB, or MySQL
Experience with Cloud Data Center
software OpenStack Hypervisor or Container-based Orchestration
system, e.g., Kubernetes Docker OpenFaaS
Experience with
machine learning, deep learning model, and software optimization on
CPU or GPU
Experience with Memory systems storage
architecture such as NVMe
Experience with test automation and docker
containerization.
