This position is for a Software Development Engineer to test hardware at Intel within the Design Engineering Group (DEG). In this role, you will be expected to be a part of and participate in global Product Development Engineer (PDE) teams in developing Sort test programs to enable new Fab process development, and Intel's product roadmap. This role is a combination of hardware and software responsibilities that has visibility and interaction with multiple areas within Intel, that gives you the opportunity to feedback to Design and improve the product outgoing Quality.
In this role responsibilities include, although not limited to:
- Ensure the testability and manufacturability of integrated circuits from the component feasibility stage through production ramp.
- Make significant contributions to design, development and validation of testability circuits.
- Evaluate, develop and debug of complex test methods.
- Develop and debug complex software programs to convert design validation vectors and drive complex test equipment.
- Create and test validation and production test hardware solutions.
- Test, validate, modify and redesign circuits to guarantee component margin to specification.
- Analyze and evaluate component specification versus performance to ensure optimal match of component requirements with production equipment capability with specific emphasis on yield analysis and bin split capability.
- Analyze early customer returns with emphasis on driving test hole closure activities.
- Create and apply concepts for optimizing component production relative to both quality and cost constraints.
- Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.
- Solve problems with sound logical thinking and logical analysis.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years of experience -OR- a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent and experience in one of these -
- PERL, Python or C/C++/C#
Preferred Qualifications
- ATE (Automated Test Equipment) handling and understanding (functional or structural) is a plus.
- Working theory of semiconductor device test and design for test methods (DFT) Experience, Digital or Analog validation and test, Array Test Program Development in High Volume Manufacturing, Advanced Statistical Data Analysis and data system automation skills.
Manufacturing and Product Engineering (MPE) is responsible for test development across product segments, supporting 95% of Intel's revenue. We deliver comprehensive pre-production test suites and component/physical debug capabilities to enable high quality, high volume manufacturing.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
