We are seeking highly qualified candidates to join the Network Platforms Group (NPG) as a Software Enabling & Optimization Engineer in the Intel Network Builders ecosystem program, focused on helping its more than 500 partners deliver solutions with the unique requirements of the rapidly growing area of 5G network transformation and the rise of the intelligent edge in multi-access networks.

As a Software Enabling & Optimization Engineer, you will work closely with key partners being ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) and GSIs (Global System Integrators), across NPG Segment teams, and Sales and Marketing to drive a programmatic approach to strategic collaboration engagements of key 5G, Edge-Cloud network transformation technical and marketing enabling initiatives to achieve specified business objectives and key results. You will define the path for enabling programs with ISVs and GSIs, as well as drive internal and external stakeholder updates and communications in accordance to our NPG structure. We seek an experienced professional who is willing to bring innovative thinking in driving new technical and business collaboration opportunities to accelerate growth and opportunities for the partners to deliver their solutions on Intel Architecture.

We have processors that scale from Atom, for power and price, all the way up through Xeon, for performance and flexibility. We have invested for years to ensure the key network workloads are optimized on our products.  Our roadmap is designed to meet diverse requirements from the on-premise edge, regional data centers at the network edge, and the core network. We also offer platform-level ingredients (like Ethernet controllers, FPGAs, eASICs) that complement our CPUs to provide an overall solution for our customers and partners. But it takes more than just building great silicon products to enable this type of technology transformation. Software remains more critical than ever. We have invested significantly in software and open-source projects in partnership with standards bodies to enable our customers to get the most of our silicon.

As a Software Enabling & Optimization Engineer you will:

  • Engage as a technical expert or trusted technical advisor to the partners (ISVs and/or GSIs) to drive Intel value and differentiation, influencing the commercial delivery of their solutions.

  • Drive technical enabling engagements: Understand partners solutions software and hardware architecture, identify specific value propositions of the Intel processors and hero features, collaborate on creating a features and capabilities adoption plan, identify and assign the required technical resources and drive towards completion to help partners implement and sell solutions using Intel.

  • Lead performance benchmarking and characterization for the commercial ISV and GSI solutions: Apply deep knowledge of the Intel Xeon Scalable based platform and horizontal capabilities architecture to advise ISV and GSI partners on cloud performance characterization and software optimization methodologies to achieve optimal performance suitable for adoption in the partners commercial solutions.      

In this role, you will be working closely with key ecosystem partners like ISVs and GSIs to:

  • Drive technical enabling initiatives to accelerate Network Core and New Edge Services transformation aligning with NEX and NPG strategy.
  • Funnel partners' voice to influence decision makers, influence Business Unit program execution plans and priorities.
  • Enable partner's push-pull collaboration plan to accelerate new platform and solution readiness.
  • Support competition analysis to maximize IA adoption opportunity.
  • Interface with internal teams to secure resources in support of the partner engagement goals that are aligned with NPG business goals.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and behavioral traits in addition to the qualifications listed below.

  • Willingness to work across multiple levels of the organization both at the customer and internally.
    Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management. Skills to influence partners' strategies and plans.
  • Willingness to influence Intel senior management, build strong relationships with our sales force and customers and effectively communicate our vision to the industry in order to drive alignment with our strategic intent and positive results for our business.

Willingness to manage stakeholders with strong external customer interaction skills.


You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT and at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with cloud service providers and ISVs and/or System Integrators. Proficiency with internal and external communications and presentations.
  • Experience in driving technical partner enabling engagements from definition to execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience MSc degree Preferred.
  • Experience with cloud, 5G and/or Edge use cases and their commercial value proposition.
  • Experience with cloud native technologies and software technologies.

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
